Feniks Awarded the “Odznaka Honorowa” for Contributions to the Polish Community Abroad

We are delighted to announce that Feniks has been awarded the prestigious “Odznaka Honorowa za Zasługi dla Polonii i Polaków za Granicą” (Badge of Honour for Services to Polonia and Poles Abroad) by the Polish Government. This new award, established by the Commissioner for Polonia, Jan Dziedziczak, recognises the exceptional contributions of individuals and organisations supporting Polish communities worldwide.
The badge itself is a medal featuring a cross with rays in silver and a red enamel centre, symbolising the White Eagle and the inscription “ZA ZASŁUGI DLA POLONII I POLAKÓW ZA GRANICĄ” (For Services to Polonia and Poles Abroad).
Our directors received this honour from Mr. Dziedziczak on the 20th of June 2023 during a special ceremony in Edinburgh. This recognition is a testament to our dedicated efforts and commitment to the Polish community in Scotland. It also marked the 15th anniversary of our organisation’s work, highlighting our long-standing dedication to helping Polish people integrate and thrive in their local communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our volunteers and collaborators. This accolade belongs to each and every one of us who has contributed to our projects and initiatives. Your dedication and hard work are the foundation of our success.

The award ceremony was part of a broader meeting with the Polish community in Edinburgh, where other distinguished individuals were also honoured. Congratulations to Ms. Diana Nowak–Zegadło from the Polish Family Help Centre, Mr. Marek Straczyński, President of SPK Edinburgh, and Ms. Renata Łopatowska from SPK Kirkcaldy for their well-deserved recognition.
Feniks is immensely proud to be recognised in this way and remains committed to continuing our mission of supporting the Polish community in Scotland. This award not only celebrates our past achievements but also motivates us to strive for an even greater impact in the future.
