Using the social prescribing approach, the Community Link Worker at Feniks works with individuals with mental health, emotional, social or wellbeing needs to enable them to gain access to services in their communities which can best meet their specific needs.
Principles of Link Working include:
- Working on 1:1 basis and developing a trusting relationship with the client;
- Identifying strengths as well as needs and barriers;
- Improving understanding of service users mental health and wellbeing;
- Sharing information about support available;
- Offering emotional and practical support in accessing services.
The Community Link Worker at Feniks links to a variety of agencies across Edinburgh, including the city council, The Advice Shop, Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Women’s Aid and Social Work.
This service is for adults (16+) living in Edinburgh, who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional and mental health. You do not need to present any documents to prove your needs, but you may benefit from talking to your GP about your mental health first and asking them about your local Link Worker.
There is a waiting list for the service. To make a query or a referral, please contact our office: info@feniks.org.uk
