Elaine McGregor joined the Board on 17 June 2026 following her retiral from the Public Sector where she worked for Local and Central Government in Scotland.
Her roles included Food Safety Adviser within Scottish Government, Scheme Lead on delivery of million pound European Structural funding on the community led programmes (LEADER) and Food Processing and Marketing Grants.
For the last decade of her career Elaine was Head of Rural Communities Policy within the Agriculture and Rural Economy Directorate. This included navigating the impact of Brexit and then Covid for rural communities and supporting mental and poverty initiatives. She advocated for continued community-led local development (CLLD) and support that led to the delivery of 11.6 million in 2023/24 across Rural Communities. Elaine retired in June 2024 after 33 years of public service.
In all these roles the most rewarding aspect for Elaine, has been ensuring policies are meaningful and have practical impact on the ground. Her close partnership working with supporters of social justice and community based mental health support led her to Feniks, whose inspirational values she shares.
